#TheReadingQuest Week 1 Update

#TheReadingQuest read-a-thon began only one week ago today, so I’m here with my week 1 update!

As you know, I’ve been working to complete all of the BARD quests on the quest board. I’ve fully completed two quests and am working on the third one.

A book that has a TV/movie adaptation

prideandprejudiceandzombiesAlready straying from my initial TBR, instead of reading Emma by Jane Austen I ended up reading  the Pride and Prejudice and Zombies graphic novel by Seth Grahame-Smith. I rated it 2/5 stars – but really, did I expect more?

I actually stuck to my TBR for this one, reading A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J Maas. Now don’t kill me for this but I rated this book 3.5/5 stars. It was entertaining and fast paced by it really wasn’t anything crazy special for me. It really just seemed like another YA fantasy book – which I what I suspected even with all the hype.

Right now I’m working towards completing the ‘striking typography’ quest by reading The Shadow of the Wind by Carlos Ruiz Zafon. I rarely/never do this, but even though I’m only about 25% done the book, I can confidently say that this has become one of my all-time favourite books! It just feels so magical even though there is no magic in it and the simple words are effortlessly packed with emotion…. I’m in love.

format: novel

Only counting my completed reads (and not including social media hp), my score card is as stands:the-reading-quest-character-card-creator-blank
